About EIG
Emirates Internet Group (EIG) is a non-profit organization that has recently been granted an international acknowledgement from the ICANN and ISOC organizations to be an official internet party of the UAE society.
EIG was established with the support of the Dubai knowledge village on the 14th March 2006 by an initiative group of UAE nationals that is dedicated to enhance the performance of internet usage and knowledge sharing in the UAE. The group was officially recognized in 19th April 2006 during a ceremony that was held at the Knowledge Village under the patronage of and attendance of H.H Shiekh Mansour bin Mohamed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum.
EIG Vision:
The growth of Internet users’ performance in order to facilitate the exchange of experiences and information and give to the guidance.
EIG Goals:
- Raising Emirates community awareness of the Internet importance & its usage.
- Raising the efficiency of local community, organizations sites (local and state).
- Upgrading the efficiency of web site developers in the field of designing and programming.
- Planning with training centers (governmental training centers and private institutions) to offer specialized training courses.
Beneficiary:
All segments of society in the public and private sectors, including:
- Decision makers.
- User information systems from organizations and individuals.
- Researchers.
